ESTIV will be one of the major dissemination channels in the ONTOX project, which stands for “ontology-driven and artificial intelligence-based repeated dose toxicity testing of chemicals for next-generation risk assessment”.

The Italian NGO OSA (Oltre la Sperimentazione Animale, Beyond Animal Experimentation), in collaboration with other partners, is launching this survey to understand what are the most commonly used animal-derived materials and reagents (e.g., animal sera, antibodies, etc.) in in vitro experimentation, and what is the current level of knowledge on available non-animal derived alternatives.

The ESTIV Honorary Membership has been granted to Prof. Greet Schoeters (ESTIV President 2008-2012) in recognition of her outstanding commitment and contributions to ESTIV.

The European Commission is organizing an on-line scientific conference on “Towards the replacement of animals for scientific purposes” to be held on 2 to 3 February 2021.

The European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV) is happy to announce that it will be offering ESTIV BEST POSTER AWARD (€ 500, Certificate) to a young scientist wanting to participate in the JRC Summer School 2021 on Non-animal Approaches in Science: The Three R…evolution, to be held from 18 to 21 May 2021 at the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) site in Ispra (Italy).
